The Sabado del Libro space, in the Historic Center of Havana, today presented The Golden Age, by José Martí, on the occasion of the 171st anniversary of the birth of the most universal of Cubans.
Published by the Gente Nueva publishing house, the book collects the four issues of the magazine The Golden Age that Martí wrote for the children of America, published in New York City between the months of July and October 1889.
The universality of human values reaches us across a wide spectrum of topics and eras. The Golden Age incites the little reader to search for knowledge, love and justice, indicates a text from the Cuban Book Institute.
At the meeting, convened by that institution, a panel dedicated to the National Hero was also held with the presence of the doctor in Historical Sciences Francisca López, the professor of the Department of Cuban History of the University of Havana Fabio Fernández, and the journalist Yusuam Palacios.
