Karaoke fire leaves 33 dead in Vietnam

Hanoi, Sep 8 (Prensa Latina) A fire that occurred on Tuesday in a karaoke bar in the city of Thuan An, in the Vietnamese province of Binh Duong, killed 33 people.

Of the deceased, 17 are men and 16 women; 32 of them were trapped in the building and one died in the hospital, as per the provincial police, who said that the search for bodies is basically over.

The President of Vietnam Nguyen Xuan Phuc expressed his deepest condolences to the families of those who died in the fire.

He also requested that the Government instruct the Public Security Ministry, other ministries and relevant agencies, as well as the Binh Duong People’s Committee to visit and support the families, address the consequences of the incident and quickly determine the cause that caused it.
