IPK updates on Alberto Juantorena's health status

Havana, August 17 (RHC)-- Two-time Olympic champion Alberto Juantorena Danger, president of the Cuban Athletics Federation, remains in critical stable condition, according to the medical report issued on Tuesday, August 16th.

The new information issued by the Pedro Kourí Tropical Medicine Institute (IPK), where the 71-year-old 'Elegante de las Pistas' remains hospitalized, is as follows:

- He remains without sedation, waking up slowly still.

- Invasively ventilated in spontaneous mode with minimal parameters and adequate oxygenation.

- He has moderate tracheobronchial secretions and no crackles.

- His blood pressure was high, so it was necessary to incorporate parenteral hypotensive drugs to achieve control.

- He maintained atrial fibrillation with adequate response.

- She presented macroscopic hematuria and open prothrombin time, so fresh plasma was transfused without complications, reducing hematuria.

- Afebrile. She continues to be fed by Levine.

- Adequate diuretic rhythm.

Condition: critically stable.
