Industriales Get Revenge against The Elefants

The Havana Industriales forcefully avenged yesterday's loss to the Cienfuegos Elephants, overwhelming them 14-5 today at the Latinoamericano Stadium on a day where Santiago de Cuba again showcased its powerful artillery.
Guillermo Carmona's squad, which had let a near-certain victory slip away the previous day, had to battle from behind to defeat the pachyderms, who jumped ahead early thanks to a Capital City error and a pair of hard-hit shots in the first inning against starter Raymond Figueredo.
The Cienfuegos team extended their lead in the second with a triple from Pedro González and another run-scoring single from Luis Vicente Mateo, adding one more run in the third and another in the fifth against reliever Andy Lee Plumas. However, their momentum ended there.
The blue awakening came in the bottom of that fifth inning with a five-run rally, capped by a home run from Pedro Roque, run-scoring doubles from Yasmani Tomás and Alfredo Rodríguez, plus a productive single from Yasiel Santoya. The final blow landed in the eighth with eight more runs, three driven in by Ariel Hechavarría and another three thanks to a three-run blast from Tomás with two men on base.
Rookie Carlos Nieto also celebrated in the offensive party, recording his first hit in the National Series.
Pitcher Andy Lee Plumas earned his first win in domestic tournaments after 2.1 innings of work with three strikeouts. He was backed by relief from Julio Rodríguez and Frank Herrera, the latter recording three strikeouts in just one-third of an inning to earn the save.
In the east, the Santiago de Cuba Wasps kept the bats red-hot and again demolished the Isla de la Juventud Pirates, this time with a 15-0 victory that was called after just five innings at the Guillermón Moncada Stadium.
The team managed by Eddy Cajigal connected for 10 hits, including three home runs from Yoel Yanki, Andy Rodríguez, and Yoelquis Guibert—his third in two days. Meanwhile, right-hander Wilber Reyna pitched a complete-game shutout, allowing just two hits and striking out five. The loss was charged to Sair Sánchez, who was tagged for six earned runs in just one inning.
