Damascus, Mar 26 (Prensa Latina) Over 650 factories resumed operations in the Sheikh Najjar industrial zone, the largest of several in the Aleppo province, northern Syria.
The facilities that have returned to operation now number 685 since their liberation from terrorists by the military in 2015, said Hazem Ajan, director of the complex.
The recovered plants are focused on the textile, food, mechanical, chemical and software sectors.
Our future action plan in the polygon includes the construction of a fairground, workers' houses, cargo transport offices and a dry port, he revealed.
Aleppo, the second largest Syrian city in population after Damascus, was liberated from terrorist organizations in 2016, after years of intense fighting and having suffered a high level of destruction, with extensive reconstruction plan of infrastructure being contemplated.
