India and Russia Express Satisfaction Over Expanded Cooperation

The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, and Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed their satisfaction with the steady increase in bilateral ties in the economic, financial, and energy sectors. The meeting between Modi and Putin took place on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in the Chinese city of Tianjin.
"The leaders discussed bilateral cooperation in the economic, financial, and energy sectors, and expressed their satisfaction with the steady growth of bilateral ties in these areas," a statement from India's Ministry of External Affairs highlighted. Modi and Putin also "reaffirmed their willingness to further strengthen the special and privileged strategic partnership between the two countries."
During the meeting, the leaders also reviewed regional and global issues, including recent developments related to the conflict in Ukraine. Modi reiterated his support for recent initiatives undertaken to resolve the conflict in Ukraine and emphasized the need to swiftly end the conflict and seek a lasting peaceful solution.
