Havana Film Festival opens Post-Production Registration
There are four days left to close the registrations of the only category still accessible since the call to submit works in the other categories ended on August 30.
In total, 1818 films, 823 scripts and 205 posters aspire to participate in the event that will inevitably be marked by the incidence of Covid-19 in the world, but not even the pandemic could reduce the number of materials delivered, compared to the previous editions.
According to the festival's official website, once registration is closed, the selection committee develops the difficult and demanding process of choosing the participating works between September and November.
This includes not only the competitive section of the event, but parallel exhibitions, which arouse equal interest in the public attending the region's cinema event.
Considered one of the most relevant in regional cinematography, the Havana Festival foresees a new edition throughout its history under the slogan 'What the doctor prescribed', as a reaffirmation of the value of art and culture in times of confinement.
Founded in 1979, the contest has been characterized by making the reality of Latin America and the world visible from the seventh art and the organizers plan to maintain its aesthetic precepts through the virtual space that this year will help connect the public with many of the audiovisual creators.
The event chaired by Iván Giroud now works tirelessly in the selection for a new appointment with the seventh regional art in Havana.
