France: Cuba Linda demands that the US responds for blockading Cuba

Paris, Nov 3 (Prensa Latina) The French Association Cuba Linda demanded that the international community, in addition to supporting at the UN the resolution demanding the end of the US blockade against the island, sanction Washington for its criminal policy.

Referring to a new vote in the United Nations General Assembly on the initiative calling for the lifting of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed on Cuba, the association insisted that it should go beyond establishing a position of principle to punish unilateral aggressions against sovereign countries.

It is urgent that sanctions also be imposed on those who, like the United States, hinder cooperation and peace among peoples and violate the UN Charter, the organization stressed in a statement shared with Prensa Latina, a text in which it endorsed the draft resolution presented yesterday in the Assembly for the thirtieth time since 1992.

In this sense, it urged the European Parliament and the French government to declare null and void the actions of the United States outside its territory and to act accordingly so that the obstacles to normal relations with the island cease.

As an example, he asked Paris to designate at least one bank to allow transactions to and from Cuba, since no financial institution accepts them for fear of U.S. punishment and in particular the millions of dollars in fines.

Part of the association’s collective is currently in the Caribbean country, headed by president Didier Lalande.
