Five Cuban athletes to compete in France

Led by Roxana Gómez, Olympic finalist in Tokyo 2020, Five Cubans will participate in Meeting International de Forbach, France, to be held on May 26.

They are the runners Shainer Reginfo (100m), Yoandys Lescay (400m), Rose Mary Almanza and Daily Cooper (800m), and Roxana Gómez (400m), the only one qualified for the 2024 Olympics so far.

All of them took part recently in the 50th Cuba Athletics Cup in Havana, where Gómez, Lescay and Almanza won gold medals and Cooper finished second. Their goal now is to improve their results with a view to the qualification for Paris 2024.
