Santo Domingo, Jul 26 (Prensa Latina) The Dominican Campaign for Solidarity with Cuba recalled in this capital the 67th anniversary of the assaults on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks, on the day of the Cuban National Rebellion.

In a virtual act given the health situation experienced by Covid-19, the friends in solidarity with the Antillean island, through a video, showed images Friday evening of what happened on July 26, 1953 in Santiago de Cuba and Bayamo (in the east), and everything that happened after the triumph of the revolution on January 1, 1959.

Once the emotional video was over, the coordinator of the Campaign, Roberto Payano thanked the participants for their presence on such a significant date and expressed admiration for Cuba and its people.

He recalled that the assault on the Moncada Barracks was a heroic feat led by the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, which was based on the preaching of the Cuban Apostle, José Martí, something that speaks volumes about the patriotic sense of that people, he said.

In the activity, a fraternal greeting was read to the Cuban people from the National Conference of Union Unity, in which it was pondered that the largest of the Antilles continues to be an example to follow and ratified the support for the Cuban Revolution and the condemnation of the blockade economic of the United States.

For its part, the Campesino Movement is part of the Latin American Coordination of Rural Organizations, also sending Cubans a message for the anniversary, in which it was highlighted that Cuba, in the midst of the bloody US blockade, maintains the dignity and defense of its society.

Finally, the evening closed with the traditional song Siempre es 26 and the memory for those who fell in the epic feat.
