Díaz-Canel expresses condolences over ballet teacher’s death

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel on Wednesday expressed his condolences over the death of ballet Maitre Ramona de Saá Bello, an outstanding figure in pedagogy in that artistic manifestation in the contemporary world.
Sad news about the death of the great Cuban dancer, Ramona de Saá, who devoted a good part of her life to teaching and her work is multiplied today in each of her students.
We send a big hug to her family, friends, colleagues and students, the Cuban president said.
The death of the renowned pedagogue occurred in the early hours of the morning at the age of 84.
Ramona de Saá Bello was born in Havana on July 23, 1939 and was the creator of the current dance teaching system in Cuba.
She studied at the Alicia Alonso Academy and was a founding dancer of the National Ballet of Cuba, becoming one of its main figures along with Loipa Araujo, Mirta Plá, Josefina Méndez, Aurora Bosch and Margarita de Saá.
