Díaz-Canel congratulates Cuba's baseball champion Granma

Havana, June 29 (RHC)-- The first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and president of the Republic, Miguel Diaz-Canel congratulated on Wednesday the Alazanes de Granma team, which won the LXI Cuban National Baseball Series (SNB).

From his official Twitter account, the dignitary sent an embrace to the director of the Granma team, Carlos Martí, whom he described as "a great among the greats," and also expressed his admiration for the opposing team, the Cocodrilos de Matanzas, in the final of the Series.

The Alazanes kept last season's championship after beating on Wednesday runner-up Matanzas by a score of 4 to 0, at the 'Mártires de Barbados' stadium, in Bayamo, capital of the eastern province of Granma.

This is the second consecutive and fourth historic title for Carlos Martí's boys, who after this afternoon's victory said that the team's secret is unity.
