Diaz-Alayo Dominate Bernaul Beach Volleyball Open

The main Cuban duo of Noslen Diaz and Jorge Luis Alayo conquered this Sunday the Bernaul Open to add three medals, two gold, in the Russian Beach Volleyball League 2025.

The Antilleans beat Khudyakov and Turovsky, from the Novy Urengoy academy, with partials of 21-18 and 21-13, colleague Luis Izquierdo announced on his Facebook profile.

In the south of Western Siberia, Diaz and Alayo started Thursday with an easy 21-13, 21-12 win over Shekunov and Chuprinov, the second duo from the Moscow academy.

A day later they beat 21-18 and 21-0 the leading duo of that same center, Panchenko and Bakhnar, due to an injury of one of its members, which forced them to retire before the end of the second set.

In the quarterfinals they overcame Myskiv and Sivolap 21-16, 21-0 in another match, which was not concluded for similar reasons.

The next victory was achieved this Saturday in the semifinals, again net by net with Shekunov and Chuprinov, whom they defeated 21-17 and 21-12.

Francisco Alvarez Cutiño's students will take on the next week as part of a profitable tour that began with the conquest of the Moscow Open. In the next stop they were second in St. Petersburg.

The preparation is aimed at achieving the best of their performances at the next world championship, scheduled for November 14-23 in Adelaide, Australia.

Before that, they will be invited to the World Pro Tour 2025, at the Elite tournament in Hamburg, Germany, from August 27 to 31, and may participate in another phase of this important circuit.
