The Laboratory of Art and Technology, LAT, opened on Monday at Cuba's Ludwig Foundation a multidisciplinary event entitled The future is now? that explores the phenomenon of artificial intelligences, AI, through the works of 12 European artists.

The proposals transcend the mere exhibition and seek to promote the exchange of creation models and new ways of approaching these emerging tools, curator Aaron R. Moreno explained to the Cuban News Agency.

The future is now? offers, in addition to the exhibition of artistic creations, two practical workshops focused on the use of AI, thus facilitating interaction and learning about these technologies, he added.

The specialist also pointed out that AI allows interactive artistic experiences that can transform the relationship between the work and the viewer. By allowing them to respond to the actions or emotions of the public, a dynamic dialogue is created that makes art more accessible.

In addition, Moreno explained that among the highlights of what goes beyond the mere exhibition is the active participation of the attendee, as the workshops will offer visitors the opportunity to experiment with AI tools through local networks, without the use of the Internet.

This interaction not only fosters an inclusive environment, but also demonstrates how technology can empower emerging artists from a more regional setting, he noted.

The exhibition dives into the incursions of artists A204, Clemens Hornemann, Elisa Deutloff & Leandra Kleber, Fabian Mosele, Francesco Scheffczyk, Golde Görich, Ivan Iovine, Julia Vollmer, Leon-Etienne Kühr, Matthias Grund, Paul Eßer and Tobias Rummel.

The event becomes a platform for the exhibition of innovative works, lays the groundwork for future collaborations that will continue to explore the intersection between art and technology, and consolidates the Ludwig Foundation of Cuba's commitment to the creative avant-garde.
