Belgrade, Sep 5, (Prensa Latina) Cuba's Havana D'Primera orchestra performed for four days in this capital, as part of its European tour on the 15th anniversary of the group, the Cuban Embassy in Serbia reported on Monday.

At the Belexpocentarde hall, band leader Alexander Abreu played trumpet solos and sang the most important songs of the orchestra, including “Pasaporte” and “Que Sorpresa”, which were highly acclaimed.

The musical group was the main attraction of the Havana in Belgrade festival, one of the most important events dedicated to Cuban music in the continent, which resumed its activities in 2022 after the isolation measures implemented in the last two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The concerts were accompanied by workshops by Cuban teachers living in Europe and focused on national rhythms such as timba, guaguanco, and rumba, with favorable feedback from the audience.

Belgrade is the first stopover of the tour and will be followed by concerts in Bulgaria (Sofia), Germany (Hamburg), Finland (Helsinki), France (Paris), Italy (Florence, Mantova, Naples), the Netherlands (Amsterdam), Switzerland (Bern), and Spain (Seville, Madrid, Tenerife, Zaragoza, Barcelona, Bilbao).

In June, Serbia hosted Puppy y los que Son Son orchestra. The country is considered one of the main stages for Cuban popular music in Europe.
