Cuban writers and artists to discuss cultural challenges

Writer Abel Prieto, president of Casa de las Americas, highlighted the meeting of the National Council of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (Uneac) to be held today and tomorrow in Havana.

The meeting, will be a space for dialogue between the national intellectual and artistic vanguard and representatives of the institutions of the Cuban cultural system, the essayist said on Twitter.

According to a message on his Twitter account, yesterday members of the Uneac presidency exchanged on how the organization, in complex moments of the national life, defends as a priority the work of its members and its promotion.

Uneac defends the systematic dialogue with cultural and social institutions in order to find solutions to problems that creators have expressed, according to the publication.

Also on Twitter, the organization assured that today and tomorrow’s meeting will be focused on everything that can be done from culture, as a transforming energy, facing the global colonizing wave.
