The record label EGREM presented in a Press Conference the portfolio of events for the year that has just begun.

In dialogue with Odalys Alberti, events director of the oldest and most important Cuban record label, we learned details of what will happen throughout the year in the country.

"...Unlike 2023, we will present the events separately in two large groups: those that are entirely from the Musical Recordings and Editions Company (EGREM in Spanish) and those that we will do in alliances with forms of non-state management that lead artists from our catalogue, or others that we will do in coordination with other forms of non-state management, fundamentally Local Development Projects with a marked impact on communities and all age groups...", she commented.

Among the priorities defined for 2024 by the fiftieth anniversary label, the effort to achieve greater outreach to children and older adults stands out, from coherent designs that will include them in the program designed for the year.

In order to achieve a successful outcome for each of the proposals, working alliances will be established with national and international sponsors, who will support the institution from their social objectives.

Special emphasis will be placed on the link with the Ministry of Tourism, an entity that will be vital in the fulfillment of the plans, based on ensuring such core aspects as accommodation, transportation and food, among others.

With our sights set on maintaining the values ??of Cuban culture, events with a more educational profile will arrive (Meeting of Music Lovers and Collectors, Meeting of Sound Professionals and Meeting of Entrepreneurial Women), among others that will be added to those designed for greater entertainment. (Chocolate with Coffee Festivals, A Bridge to Havana, Josone Jazz & Son and Habana Mambo).

Renowned artists lead many of the events that systematically occur under the auspices of the EGREM, to name just a few we mention Waldo Mendoza (Chocolate con Café), Isaac Delgado (Varadero Josone Festival Rumba, Jazz & Son), Jorge Robaina (Un Bridge to Havana and Ciudad del Mar)

Local Development Projects in pursuit of Cuban culture

Among the forms of non-state management that will lead events together with the EGREM, Mambo SRL stands out, a company led by the musician and director Arnaldo Rodríguez, leader of the Talismán.

Starting from the traditional Piña Colada Festival (April), the fourth edition of the Habana Mambo Festival (December) was announced by the young Company and Local Development Project.

Both proposals include the promotion of EGREM's cultural products and the materialization of purposes contained in the work objectives of the Ministry of Culture.

Another of the private actors that strengthens its alliance this year with the legendary record label that will celebrate six decades is Uranga Colecciones. The residents of the Popular Cathedral Council (Old Havana) are the center of this community action where knowledge of plastic arts and literature is acquired. There, led by Maylet Uranga, workshops on painting, photography and manufactured paper are taught, currently in close collaboration with students from the San Alejandro Academy of Fine Arts.

Among the actions organized by Uranga Colecciones, one that involves adults over 60 years of age and pregnant women stands out.

The link with the record label arises from an alliance with the singer Haila María Mompié and will be dedicated directly to the children of the neighborhood and especially to those of the Rafael María de Mendive Primary School.

"...it will be an excellent opportunity to expand our links that we have already established from books to add music, and attract them to our house, where they will also be able to experience the dialogue with children's literature writers.

The scope of the events organized by EGREM exceeds the limits of the Cuban capital to reach other regions of the country such as Artemisa, Matanzas, Cienfuegos, Ciego de Ávila and Guantánamo, promoting contact with diverse audiences.
