The public of this capital awaits for the presentation of the album Ancestros Sinfónico, by the group Síntesis, Eme and X Alfonso, on June 23 and 24 at the Cuban national Theater.

The Sala Avellaneda of that institution will dress up as a gala from 8:30 p.m., local time, with the premiere of the winning volume of the Latin Grammy 2022 in the category of Best Folk Album and the Cubadisco Grand Prix this year.

More than a hundred musicians will accompany the popular group, among them, the National Choir of Cuba, directed by teacher Digna Guerra, and the Orchestra of the Mozart Lyceum of Havana, under the baton of the principal conductor José Antonio Méndez.

The phonogram, made up of 10 pieces, constitutes a symphonic suite thanks to the reinterpretation of X Alfonso and the advice of maestro Leo Brouwer and ethnologist Natalia Bolívar.

Ancestros Sinfónico is a renewed look at the work of Síntesis, a family reverence that, in Brouwer’s opinion, boasts a remarkable experience heritage, authentic to its roots.

“X proposes a musical-cultural imbrication (African songs, symphonic sound, gospel choirs, batá drums, current compositional language) leading to a postmodern aesthetic.

The result? Unbeatable!”, the renowned guitarist and conductor reflected in the record notes.

The compilation was relaunched 35 years after the release of Ancestros in 1987 and constitutes an invitation to listen again to the work of Carlos Alfonso and Ele Valdés, as well as that of authors who marked the trajectory of this group such as Esteban Puebla and Lucía Huergo, among many more.
