Cuban President Arrives in Holguín to Oversee Hurricane Recovery

Miguel Díaz-Canel, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, arrived today in the province of Holguín.

Accompanied by Roberto Morales Ojeda, Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, and several ministers, the president is visiting the eastern territory to assess the damage and promote immediate recovery efforts following Hurricane Melissa.

Díaz-Canel is touring locations damaged by this tropical cyclone, which impacted the region as a Category 3 storm on the Saffir-Simpson scale.

Joel Queipo Ruíz, First Secretary of the Party in Holguín, and Manuel Hernández Aguilera, Governor of the province, are also participating in the tour.
