Cuban PM Continues Visit to Central Province

Cuba's Prime Minister Manuel Marrero on Friday met with workers and directors the 1o de Enero sugar mill in order to deal with the situation of the sugar harvest in Ciego de Avila.
Marrero, who leads the government visit to the province, was deeply interested in workers´ working conditions, shifts and how current harvest is progressing, in which the sugar mill has already delivered over 3,000 tons of sugar.
Marrero was also given detailed information about how the production bases in charge of supplying sugar cane to the sugar mill and selling agricultural products to the workers and their families are presently working.
Vice Prime Minister Jorge Luis Tapia, on thye other hand, called on the province´s Government Council to eliminate distortions and boost the economy by applying new work concepts, with the purpose of increasing food production.
Municipal mayor, Yorqui Navarro, explained the progress of major economic and social indicators in the province, major problems faced by the health workers, the state of the doctor’s offices and the rest of the institutions of the sector.
At the end of the visit, the delegation attended the reopening of the Los Naranjitos day-care center, the Ceballos Popular Council frecently renovated, with a capacity for 184 children.
