Cuban dancer joins International Dance Council

Matanzas, Cuba, Jun 25 (Prensa Latina) The International Dance Council (CID) chose Cuban dancer Kenia Carrazana as one of its active members for 2021.
 
The CID, an organization belonging to Unesco, covers all forms of dance in the world and is a forum that brings together the most important international, national and local troupes, as well as people actively engaged in the art of dance.

It is a non-governmental non-profit entity founded in 1973 at the headquarters of Unesco in Paris, and its members are the most prominent federations, associations, schools, companies and individuals from over 170 countries.

Director, choreographer and teacher Carrazana, born in August 1982 in the western Cuban city of Matanzas, Carrazana has a renowned career in the world of dance inside and outside Cuba.

Graduated in Contemporary Dance at the Higher Institute of Art, she left her mark in the Espiral Dance Company, and in the groups of Dramatic Theater 'El Mirón Cubano' and 'Teatro Icarón', all of them from Matanzas.

From now on, the artist who currently directs the Novadanza company will take part in CID projects and will organize activities in Cuba and in common with other nations to promote exchanges among schools, groups, teachers, troupes, choreographers and researchers.

She will also have a voice in the General Assembly, Congress and other events of the international dance organization.
