Cuba for strengthening ties with Civil Aviation Organization

Cuban Deputy Prime Minister Ricardo Cabrisas received representatives of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), to whom he expressed Cuba’s willingness to strengthen cooperation ties.
At the meeting, Cabrisas highlighted the relationships that ICAO and Cuban civil aviation have maintained for decades in various areas of development, as reported by Cuba’s national television system.
During this gathering, the organization’s general secretary, Juan Carlos Salazar, expressed his delight in being in Havana, where he visited the Air Navigation Center and held talks with authorities and specialists in the sector.
Following the schedule, the Ministry of Transport and ICAO signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of civil aviation.
The document recognizes the potential for the training of personnel working in this area and the modernization of the infrastructure. According to Salazar, ICAO hopes to continue strengthening cooperation ties and explore new areas.
Cuba is a founding member of the International Civil Aviation Organization and has been part of its council in five periods, the last one was between 2016 and 2019.
