Cuba Stands in Solidarity With Palestinian People

Organized by the students and workers of the Higher Institute of International Relations "Raúl Roa García," an act of solidarity with the Palestinian people took place this morning in Havana's Vedado.
Under intermittent rain and presided over by Rector Rogelio Sierra Díaz, the meeting began with a speech by the Ambassador of Palestine in Cuba, H.E. Mr. Akram Samhan.
The Ambassador updated the audience on the latest figures of deaths and injuries due to the criminal Israeli bombings against the Gaza Strip, and thanked those present and Cuba in general for so many demonstrations of support and solidarity with its people.
Afterward, more than a dozen students and professors, including Ambassador Eumelio Caballero, President of the Cuban Arab Friendship Association, and some young Palestinians students in Cuba, spoke, some of them reciting poems of their own, and some authorship of Palestinian poets.
The tweet reads, "Young people and workers of the Higher Institute for International Relations and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba held a moving open forum in solidarity with Palestine. Young Palestinians studying in Cuba, feel the support of our people."
The common thread running through all the speeches was the unanimous condemnation of the criminal actions of the Israeli occupation forces.
They also denounced the unconditional support with which the United States and its Western allies allow the Netanyahu government to act with impunity, and demanded justice for the Palestinian people, including the realization of their inalienable right to self-determination and independence.
The Ambassadors of Algeria and Yemen shared this Tribune of Solidarity with the Palestinian people, along with the Director of the Cuban Arab Union (UAC), officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Cuban Institute of People Friendship (ICAP), Representatives of the Provincial Government and Cuban Youth Union (UJC), residents of the community and other guests.
