Cuba says goodbye to ship crews in solidarity in the Matanzas fire

Matanzas, Cuba, Aug 15 (Prensa Latina) Folowing a moving ceremony of gratitude, local authorities on Monday sent the Mexican ships Bourbon Artazabe and Pemex Ehecatl crews off, who were deeply involved in putting out the large-scale deadly fire at the Matanzas oil terminal. During the meeting, the Mexican crews thanked expressed their willingness to aid Cuba in case of any emergency.
Matanzas´ authorities of the Communist Party of People´s Power (PCC, in Spanish) granted Carlos Uziel Salcido, the Bourbon Artabaze Captain, the Friendship Medal.
Salcido was also awarded, alongside the Pemex Ehecatl Captain Carlos Alberto Rojas, the flag of labor prowess.
In this regard, the PCC wished via Twitter “all glory in the world for those who, in an altruistic gesture, left everything behind to assist us”.
On Sunday, an emotional act was held in Matanzas for collaborators from Mexico and Venezuela whoalso participated in the confrontation of the fire.
Venezuelan and Mexican collaborators were awarded a replica of the Major General Antonio Maceo Grajales´ machete and the Friendship Medal.
