Cuba recognizes health workers on World Health Day

On the occasion of World Health Day, Cuban authorities recognized today the work of health workers.

Esteban Lazo Hernandez, president of the National Assembly of People's Power and the Council of State, congratulated health professionals whom he described as a pride of the homeland.

The dedication, professionalism, commitment and humanism distinguish their daily work, the parliamentary leader said.

On the occasion, Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, Cuban foreign minister, reiterated Cuba's commitment to promote health for all people in all countries, and the willingness to continue providing our solidarity assistance to those nations that require it.

On World Health Day we congratulate all workers in the sector who give their best for Cuba and the world, declared Roberto Morales Ojeda, Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba.

With his message he denounced the recent campaigns of attack by the U.S. government against the work of Cuban medical missions, which for more than 60 years have provided health care in more than 130 countries.

This day is commemorated to remember the creation of the World Health Organization in 1948, with the objective of promoting health, preserving the security of the world and serving vulnerable people. So that all people, everywhere, can achieve the highest level of health and well-being.?

The date, this 2025, will kick off a year-long campaign on maternal and newborn health with the slogan "Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures."
