HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 7 (ACN) The Cuban baseball team improved its performance Wednesday to beat Bahamas 9-3 in the qualifying phase of the 4th Caribbean Cup, held in Nassau.
Cuba decided the game by scoring six times in the sixth inning against the starter Giovante Tomlins and the reliever Carvin Dames, making the most of every play and taking advantage of the host team’s many errors and poor hitting power.
After these results, Curacao, Puerto Rico and Cuba share the first place with two wins and one loss. Bahamas (1-2) will also be in the semifinals, whereas the U.S. Virgin Islands (1-3) was eliminated.
On Thursday, the Cubans will be opposite the defending champion Curacao, which beat them in the final of the previous edition.
