Cuba Announces Participation in IBA World Championships

Havana.- The Cuban federation of the sport announced today that it will have four representatives at the World Championships of the International Boxing Association (IBA), to be contested from December 3 to 13 in Dubai.

Its president, Alberto Puig de la Barca, explained that it was considered opportune to utilize this competitive space as part of the athletes' preparation for upcoming commitments in professional circuits.

He added that the men selected for the task are Olympic two-time champions Julio César La Cruz (92 kg) and Arlen López (80 kg), the 2023 world runner-up Fernando Arzola (+92 kg), and Giorvis Salfrán (51 kg), silver medalist at the Cologne World Cup that same year.
