La Paz, Dec 15 (Prensa Latina) Bolivia´s Communist Party Secretary-General Ignacio Roman Mendoza on Thursday called for international solidarity to combat what he called Condor II Plan which is being rolled out in Latin America against left-wing leaders.
International solidarity is key element to fight off Condor II Plan that is being recently implemented in our continent. Latin American and Caribbean revolutionaries must be alert and mobilize against these maneuvers contrary to the progressive and anti-imperialist experiences’, Mendoza assured in an exclusive interview to Prensa Latina, while stating that neoliberalism did not lose power to develop initiatives aimed at generating destabilizing actions and even situations of adopting fascist elements including the one Bolivians recently experienced during the 36-day strike in Santa Cruz.
Plus, Mendoza recalled a recent statement made by the Spanish political analyst Juan Carlos Monedero who said the United States is no longer so much concerned with the military oeganization to impose coups d’état, but that it is fundamentally supported by the legislative and judicial structures.
As an example, he referred to the recent case of the vice-president of Argentina Cristina Fernandez, which he described as ‘pathetic’ because following a failed attempt on her life, the right wing fell back on judicial manipulation.
He also mentioned similar strategies that led to the arbitrary imprisonment for Luiz Inacio Lula Da Silva, which were used in the disqualification of former President Rafael Correa and other similar experiences.
