Book fair in eastern Cuba presents book about of iconic Commander of the Revolution

The book "Juan Almeida Bosque, testimonios de un santiaguero 1970-2009"(Juan Almeida Bosque, testimonies of a santiaguero 1970-2009), by physician and researcher Luis Estruch, was presented at the Salon de los Vitrales, in this eastern city, as a tribute to the mark of the commander musician.

According to intellectual Giovanni Luis Villalon, the author's closeness to the leader, thanks to the responsibilities he held, allows him to reveal Almeida's identity with the Hero City and his perseverance in favor of its economic, social and cultural development.

Almeida was a natural leader of the people, because he came out of it, and grew with his systematic actions alongside Commander in Chief Fidel Castro, until he was assumed by the Cubans, and especially by the people of Santiago, as an honest, respectful and simple representative, who shared the daily tasks, he said.

Estruch's testimony reveals the busy activity of the founder of the III Eastern Front, who still had the time to unfold his dreams in the cultural field, that's why he was seen with certain assiduity sharing with musical cultivators, plastic artists, actors and theater directors.

The text has a lot of value and constitutes a boost, in order to continue showing, in its greater extension, the member of the Rebel Army, because it revives events such as the celebrations for the triumph of the Revolution, May Day parades, among others, he noted.

For his part, the author expressed that writing about Almeida is very difficult, but necessary, in order to understand his support to young people, the University of Oriente and artistic development.

The text, published by Oriente Publishing House, was presented as the culmination of the 32nd edition of the International Book Fair, held until Sunday in Santiago de Cuba.
