The book Eusebio Leal, desde las dos orillas, initiative of Pedro García Jiménez, councilor of the Córdoba City Council, and Francisco Gómez Díaz, Spanish writer, was presented at the Palacio del Segundo Cabo as part of the 31st International Book Fair.

Under the Utopia Libros edition, the first issue came to light in January 2023, and it’s a compilation of opinions to honor the memory of Leal, "a universal and exceptional Cuban," according to Gómez Díaz.

Pedro García Jiménez told the Cuban News Agency exclusively that the process of making the book began months after the death of the eternal historian of Havana.

In the volume, those who knew him, in both shores, that is in Cuba and in Spain, express what they lived, felt, and learned from him, declared García Jiménez.

He highlighted that the text contains the testimonies of around 18 personalities, including Ariel Gil Gómez, director of the Eusebio Leal Spengler House, writer Leonardo Padura, the intellectual Abel Prieto Jiménez, the journalist Magda Resik Aguirre, and Perla Rosales Aguirreurreta, Deputy General Director of the Office of the Historian of the City of Havana.

The presentation was attended by José Luis Centella, president of the Communist Party of Spain, Ricardo Gónzalez Mestre, editor and graphic designer, Alicia García Santana, Cuban researcher, historian and essayist, members of the above mentioned organization, and Cuban friends and friends from Córdoba, city from Andalusia, Spain.

Eusebio Leal Spengler (1942-2020), devoted his thought and action to historiography and the rescue of the nation's heritage values, work for which he received several awards, including the Grand Cross of the Order of Isabel la Catolica ( 2017), the Order of Friendship (2018) and the Grand Cross of the Order of Carlos III (2019).
