Some of the best known artists of the Cuban cultural landscape gathered in the Barclaycard Center, in a show that ended after midnight.
Cubanía was not only a musical event; it was accompanied by an exhibition, which opened on October 11th, showing the work of renowned Cuban painters such as Ruben Alpizar, Pedro Pablo Oliva, Roberto Fabelo and Manuel Mendive.
Madrid was lit with the colors of the flag of the 'Pearl of the Caribbean' said the organizer of Cubanía, Spaniard Julio Gutiérrez, a music promoter for singers Raphael and Juan Luis Guerra, among other famous artists.
On stage, Descemer Bueno, a three times Latin Grammy winner and the songwriter behind several of Enrique Iglesias successes, performed a series of his most-known numbers.
Cubanía, which lasted nearly five hours, also hosted other popular performers such as Leoni Torres, Alain Perez, Haila Mompié, Luna Manzanares, Idania Valdes, Yamila Pérez and Arahi (former member of the female orchestra Anacaona).
All these stars shone in an unforgettable night but it was Descemer's responsibility to close the show, giving a great performance in front of a dancing crowd of thousands.
