In a press conference Repilado announced that the staging, premiered 14 years ago, will have live music performed by the Grupo Compay Segundo and reflects passages of the artist’s life.

"The play is a love story written in direct language", affirmed the producer who also is the son of Máximo Francisco Repilado Muñoz, internationally known as Compay Segundo.

Actors Blanca Rosa Blanco, Mayra Mazorra, LieterLedesma and Ricardo Amaray, among others, will perform in this piece homage to the composer who reached world fame with the Buena Vista Social Club.

The play, directed by Ulises Salazar, returns to the stages updated by the new technologies and according to leading actors is a genuine defense of the Island’s cultural traditions.

Born on November 18 of 1907, Compay Segundo made interesting contributions to the music, for example, the invention of the armonico, instrument created on the basis of seven chords, combination of the Spanish guitar and the Cuban tres.
