David Yates' "Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them" has added "Phone Booth" actor Colin Farrell to its growing cast ensemble.

Colin Farrell will be playing the role of the character name Graves, as per The Hollywood Reporter. Graves is a wizard who will meet Newt Scamander, who is played by "Les Miserables" actor Eddie Redmayne, in New York. Scamander authors books about fantastic beasts and his literary works would be studied by Hogwarts' students.

According to Cinema Blend, Farrell's character can be linked to Merton Graves, the cellist for the well-known wizard-witch music band in Harry Potter's time. If not Merton himself, Farrell's character is feasible to be a descendant of the said cellist.

Aside from Joel Schumacher's thriller film "Phone Booth," Farrell is also known for his roles in Len Wiseman's action-mystery film "Total Recall," Mark Steven Johnson's action-crime film "Daredevil," and Martin McDonagh's comedy-crime drama film "In Bruges." Along with Yates' upcoming spin-off film, Farrell is also set to appear in Alfonso Poyart's thriller film "Solace."

Along with Farrel as Graves and Redmayne as Scamander, "Fantastic Beats and Where to Find Them" also stars Katherine Waterston as Propentina, Dan Fogler as Jacob, Alison Sudol as Queenie, and Ezra Miller as Kredan, among others.

Set 70 years prior, Potter reads his book in school, "Fantastic Beats and Where to Find Them" centers on the exploits of writer Newt Scamander in New York's underground community of witches and wizards.

"Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling also penned the source material, which will serve as guide for the film's story. However, exact plot details and additional characters are yet to be revealed.

Yates' "Fantastic Beats and Where to Find Them" is slated to premiere in theaters in United States on Nov. 18, 2016.
