Raul Castro, president of Cuba´s Council of State and Ministers, presided over the swearing-in ceremony of new Cuban ambassadors at the Jose Marti Memorial.

According to the ACN, other members of the Political Bureau like Esteban Lazo Hernandez, president of the National Assembly of People´s Power, and Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, Minister of Foreign Affairs, attended the ceremony.

The swearing-in ceremony took place under the commitment to be loyal to the Revolution and our Homeland. 32 officers, who will represent Cuba in Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, Asia, Middle East, and International Organizations, signed the oath. Jose Carlos Hernandez Padron, on behalf of the new ambassadors, noted that the group behavior will be characterized by sacrifice, modesty, and courage.

Rogelio Sierra, deputy minister of Foreign Affairs, recalled that Cuban diplomacy is part of the Revolution´s political weapons and highlighted openness as one of its main features. Moreover, he urged the new officers to spread better the ideas we defend as well as to strive for the constant self-improvement in the field of culture and politics in order to face the convoluted international situation.
