The district of Soufriere, located on the western coast of Saint Lucia, has continued to reinforce its relations with Cuba, as demonstrated during the visit of Ambassador Alejandro Simancas and the meeting held with its Mayor, Pius Gangardine.
The meeting, which was held at the Constituency Council Office, highlighted the ties of solidarity and cooperation that unite the two countries.
At the same meeting, there were explanations given about the work being carried out in the community by a group of Cuban medical specialists, whose presence and work was appreciated by the Mayor and signaled that these have become examples of the friendship between the two peoples.
The Cuban diplomat, who was accompanied by a group of collaborators, also visited the local polyclinic where he was received by his director, who recognized the high value of the collaboration with Cuba, which has allowed, among other things, to train a leading group of Saint Lucians as health professionals.
