Ecuador Between Fraud and Betrayal
especiales

The die is cast. Barring a catastrophe of any kind, Daniel Noboa will remain as president of Ecuador until 2029, and the oligarchy, imperialism, and the usual traitors are already trying to ensure his permanence until 2033, as we have already anticipated on this website.
Despite evidence of fraud, the highest electoral authorities rejected the vote recount, even though observers from the conservative Organization of American States and the European Union acknowledged anomalies.
In total, the South American country's electoral authorities denied at least five claims by the Citizen Revolution party, which alleged that the ruling party stole one million votes.
On the contrary, they approved the election results in favor of right-wing leader Daniel Noboa, arguing that the leftist leader's allegations of fraud were "baseless."
However, Reuters reports, various Ecuadorian organizations and observers, including those from Colombia, pointed out a series of irregularities during the process.
Luisa González and her party denounced that the votes cast in more than 13,000 ballot boxes had "incorrigible defects" in an election where 13,736,314 voters were eligible to vote. Of these, 51% were women and 49% were men.
González and other leaders of the Citizens' Revolution, including former President Rafael Correa, denounced fraud, believing the results to be impossible.
Their arguments are based on the fact that the results were not anticipated in any previous survey, nor were they projected in either of the two exit polls released after the polls concluded.
Furthermore, they find it incomprehensible that González only added approximately 172,000 votes compared to the first round, while Noboa increased by 1.13 million votes, after the two candidates remained virtually tied in the February 9 count, with a minimal difference of less than 17,000 votes.
But this was of no use to an Electoral Council that hadn't challenged Noboa's declaration of a state of emergency in areas where the electorate favored Correísmo, and that did nothing about it when the president violated the Constitution and didn't leave office during the electoral period.
Indigenist Judases At Large
I don't know if you remember when the indigenous leader Yaku Pérez offered his services—allegedly for $200,000—to pave the way for millionaire banker Lazo to the presidency.
Furthermore, the five Pachakutic legislators made it possible for parliamentary actions against the aforementioned party to fail, until the latter failed and decreed a so-called sudden death so that Noboa could be his replacement in elections that were somewhat less filthy than the current ones.
But the surprise came later, shortly before the recent second round, when Revolución Ciudadana and Pachakutic agreed to defeat the right-wing party represented by Noboa, something that was not achieved due to the alleged fraud endorsed by the electoral authorities.
It was very difficult for imperialism and the oligarchy to avoid thwarting the opportunity to depose a president who would allow the establishment of two US military bases and build a mega-prison on US soil, in addition to maintaining suspicious ties to drug trafficking, at a time when the accusation that cocaine is being smuggled out freely in banana boxes exported to the country is being repeated. The majority of the cocaine comes from the Noboa family, the richest in the nation.
This made it very difficult for the left to come to power, especially when nine legislators betrayed their movement and the pact with the Citizens' Revolution to join the ruling party, which thus achieved a parliamentary majority.
Iza Exposes Them
The top indigenous leader, Leónidas Iza, condemned the agreement between some Pachakutik assembly members and the government of Daniel Noboa, calling it a betrayal of the principles of the indigenous movement and a sale of the dignity of the peoples for temporary power shares.
He vindicates Pachakutik as a tool of resistance and a voice for the excluded, born to defend justice, sovereignty, and a dignified life, not to join governments that repress social protest and govern through marketing.
Although he respects the decision of Pachakutik's rank and file in the second round, he affirms that CONAIE will not give up on its principles or its unity with leftist movements, continuing the fight for the historical demands of peoples and nationalities.
He invites everyone to raise their voices in the face of the betrayal of ideals. He does not seek confrontation, but rather an ethical conscience that rebuilds hope through truth. He accuses the oligarchy of indifference to the suffering of victims of state violence and repression.
He reaffirms that the future demands not giving up, raising our voices, and acting in defense of principles, coherence, and dignity in the face of attempts to harm the country.
He concludes by saying that history will judge, and the people will remember those who stood on the right side in the most difficult moments.
