Donald Trump filed a lawsuit of 100 million USD against his niece Mary and the New York Times.

The reason? Well, they conspired to get Trump’s tax return and leak it afterwards.

The lawsuit ratifies that she, along with other three journalists from The New York Times: Sussane Craig, David Barstow, and Russel Buettner, were involved in a “insidious plot” to get such taxes.

So was reported on Wednesday by three journalists from NBC News, Dartunorro Clark, Tom Winter, and Jesse Rodríguez.

This news media states that the defendants collected sensitive data to their benefits, which they used to spuriously legitimize their work, which led them win the 2019 Pulitzer Price for explanatory reporting.

Mary Trump confessed she leaked Trump’s tax return to The New York Times in her book launched in 2020: Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World's Most Dangerous Man, and in other interviews.

She recalls that she “worked up an authorized portrait of Donald J. Trump and the toxic family that created him" in her book.

In a statement, she labeled Trump as a desperate man and said: “I think he is a loser and he is going to smash everything he can against the wall.”

At the same time, The New York Times pointed out that the media plans to contesting the suit.

Its spokesperson, Danielle Rhoades Ha, argued that “the coverage on Donald Trump’s tax return help inform citizens on a paramount issue of public concern.”

And highlighted that “this lawsuit is an attempt to silence independent news media and we are planning to defend ourselves ferociously.”

The lawsuit was filed in State Supreme Court of New York, Dutchess County.

The NBC details that Mary Trump violated a non-disclosure agreement which barred her from disclosing details on the family finances.

This media also ratifies that Trump’s niece and the other journalists “were motivated by personal revenge as well as their desire to gain some fame, visibility, and some financial gain.”
