According to Presidency sources, at the site he received information on supply to the Central Supply System, to Santiago de las Vegas—with more than fifteen thousand inhabitants—and to Terminal 1 of José Martí International Airport.
Specialists identified as main difficulties the deterioration of civil infrastructure, the lack of automation at the distribution hub, the wear of the pipeline to Santiago de las Vegas, and electrical instability.
The work plan foresees comprehensive maintenance of the Pumping Station, recovery of basic automation, restoration of the pipeline, and actions to stabilize the electrical service.
During the exchange it was mentioned that Arroyo Naranjo shows progress, while Boyeros and Cotorro present greater difficulties due to a deficit of pumping equipment.
The president also inquired about the situation in provinces such as Santiago de Cuba, Granma, Matanzas, and Pinar del Río, where complexities in water supply persist.
Díaz-Canel stressed that behind every figure of affected people is the life of people waiting for solutions, and that reducing the impacted population constitutes the essential objective of the Comprehensive Program.
Accompanying the head of state were Vice Prime Minister Inés María Chapman Waugh, the president of the National Institute of Water Resources Antonio Rodríguez Rodríguez, the first secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Party in Havana Liván Izquierdo Alonso, and the capital's governor Yanet Hernández Pérez.
Subsequently, the president toured three economic actors in the Cerro municipality, linked to the Economic and Social Transformations promoted by the country.
At the Hygiene and Sanitary Materials Enterprise (Mathisa) he learned about organizational changes and sales strategies, and announced that the national leadership will return in a few months to evaluate results.
The MSME Hidrox, dedicated to cleaning services in hospitals, set out the obstacles limiting its management and growth, while the team discussed projects and alliances with the president.
The Prodanco Group, an MSME that markets paints and hardware items, showed its facilities and offerings, highlighting organizational discipline and the opportunities opened by the Transformations.
