Casa de las Américas in Cuba is currently finalizing details to host the panel "Bad Bunny between the Caribbean and the Diaspora: Culture, Economy, Politics, and Identity," an event designed to offer a multidisciplinary analysis of the Puerto Rican artist.

Organized by the Norman Girvan Chair of Caribbean Studies at the University of Havana, the Program of Studies on Latinos in the United States, and the Center for Caribbean Studies, the meeting is scheduled for Wednesday the 6th at 10:00 local time in the Manuel Galich Hall.

The gathering will delve into the career of singer Benito Antonio Martínez (Bad Bunny) as a cultural, economic, and political phenomenon in the contemporary Caribbean. Furthermore, it will address his impact on the resignification of Puerto Rican and Latino identity, particularly among migrant communities in the United States.

The panel will be moderated by Claudia Marín Suárez, from the Center for International Policy Research (CIPI). Featured specialists include Leannelis Cárdenas, from the Center for Music Research and Development of Cuba; Fabio Ernesto Chirolde and Gretel Blanco, from the Center for World Economy Research; and Ana Niria Albo, representing the Program of Studies on Latinos in the United States.

Discussions will be linked to themes of language, belonging, Americanity, and the diaspora, as well as the relationship between colonialism, economic dependence, and cultural production.
