Cuban President Denounces U.S. Pressure Ahead of UN Vote
Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel today denounced U.S. international pressures ahead of the vote against the blockade at the UN.
"The cruelty of the collective punishment that the U.S. applies to the Cuban people is so unjustifiable that, on the eve of a new UN vote on the resolution against the blockade, it desperately pressures sovereign nations to endorse its genocidal actions," the head of state denounced on the social network X.
Díaz-Canel described the deployment against leaders and officials as frantic, and noted that these events are "the best evidence of how alone and isolated they are before the world in their policy against Cuba, of the lack of authentic support, and of how the cause is on our side."
In a few days, the Caribbean nation will present before the United Nations General Assembly its annual report "Necessity of ending the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba," a text that for more than three decades has been supported by an overwhelming majority of countries.
