Sea lovers will meet again in Cuban waters to revive the Blue Marlin International Fishing Tournament, absent for several years, which will highlight the Caribbean island as an attractive destination for recreational tourism.

For four days, the search for that fish will be the main goal of the 22nd edition of the traditional tournament, to be held on September 19-24 sponsored by Havana's Hemingway Marina.

Domingo Novo, commercial director of the company, comments that the blue marling tournament, along with the Ernest Hemingway International Marlin Fishing Tournament and that of Wahoo, are the three biggest game fishing tournaments carried out in Cuba.

Convened to fish without damaging the preservation of Cuba's marine habitat, as usual, competing teams will try to catch fish using the mark-let go method approved by the International Fishing Federation to which Cuba belongs.

These sports meetings usually attract teams from Lithuania, Argentina, Russia, Holland, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Spain, Italy and France.

In this occasion, the three groups with the largest amount of points accumulated and the one reporting the first catch of a Blue Marlin each day will receive prizes, as well as the youngest participant, the woman catching a Blue Marlin, and those who manage to catch the first Sailfish and White Marlin of the tournament.

Boats will go out to sea on September 20, 21 and 23, while September 22 will be a day of rest for crews and on September 24 the tournament will be brought to a close.
