In an interview with the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo at the University of Texas A&M, while referring to the time he was the CIA director, he said: “I was the director of the CIA. We lied, cheated, and stole. We even had entire training courses.”

Amid confessions, let’s just take away few things. It seems such practice is not exclusive to the CIA, as the current foreign policy of the United States embraces it as well. It is crystal clear that Pompeo —a man who is leading the US State Department— is not prone to implement the precepts he was taught back when he was a cadet at the West Point Academy. Back then, and in his own words: he was asked to do exactly the opposite “Do not lie, cheat, or steal, or tolerate those who do.”

Suffice to recall some of the lies that, in recent days, the US Secretary of States has aired on Cuba and Venezuela.

On March 11, in a press conference held in Washington, he stated that Cuba was responsible for the decisions made by the Nicolas Maduro’s regime and the main and “true imperialist power in Venezuela.”

"No nation has done more to sustain daily misery of ordinary people in Venezuela than Cuba,” by contributing to spread “death and despair,” said Pompeo and added, among other nonsenses that “Cuban soldiers” are operating inside Venezuela violating the sovereignty of that country.

According to press reports, he also highlighted that Cubans are responsible for the training of the secret police “in methods of torture, surveillance, and repression.”

Needless to say we are not going to waste our time replying someone who confesses himself as a liar and thief. As the saying reads: “when one of the parties confesses there is no need of evidence.”
