Putin and Diaz-Canel discuss joint projects

Russian President Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation with his Cuban counterpart Miguel Diaz-Canel, during which the two leaders discussed bilateral cooperation issues.

According to the Russian government, among the topics discussed by the two heads of state was a collaboration in the energy and industrial spheres, sectors with an important bilateral exchange.

The Eurasian nation's government communiqué said Putin and Díaz-Canel also expressed their intention to continue strengthening the Russian-Cuban strategic partnership comprehensively.

In addition, the leaders confirmed their readiness to consistently implement the agreements reached during Diaz-Canel's visit to Moscow on November 19-22, with due consideration of the proposals and wishes of the Cuban side, the Kremlin added.

As a result of the conversation, the presidents of Russia and Cuba "agreed to intensify contacts at various levels."

During his visit to the Russian capital in November, Díaz-Canel and Putin discussed the development of bilateral relations and also took part in the inauguration ceremony of a monument in Moscow to honor the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro.
