Hosts Uzbekistan are set to fight for maximum gold medals at the International Boxing Association (IBA) Men's World Boxing Championships here.

The day started with Oybek Juraev of Uzbekistan winning against sixth seed Dmitrii Dvali of Russia in the bantamweight category.

Juarev, fighting with a defensive approach, was countering well against Dvali to take the first-round 4-1.

The second round started with no change in strategy from both boxers, but Dvali managed to implement some good combinations.

The patient approach of Juraev helped him win 3-2 in the second and third-round to seal a 5-2 split decision win.

In the welterweight class, Asadkhuja Muydinkhujaev of Uzbekistan got the better of Battömöriin Misheelt of Mongolia.

The duo took turns to exchange blows in round one.

In the beginning, Misheelt launched a flurry of punches that was dodged by Muydinkhujaev.
