Ottawa, Sep 3 (Prensa Latina) Cuba's Consulate in the Canadian city of Montreal held a working meeting with the airline NOLINOR Aviation/OWG, which is currently preparing to operate direct flights to the island from upcoming November.

The diplomatic office shared on Twitter the information about the encounter held on Tuesday, and released an image in which Cuba's officials and representatives of the airline appear.

Cuba's Consulate highlighted in Twitter that OWG will operate direct weekly flights with departures from Toronto and Montreal to the main Cuban tourist destinations.

The meeting took place after the tour operator Hola Sun Holidays announced in July that the airline is going to offer flights to Cuba from November 1 to important destinations such as Cayo Coco, the cities of Holguin and Santa Clara, and Varadero resort.

According to the tour operator, the OWG company, which was created in the midst of the current global tourism crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, will use modern B737-400 aircraft for those flights.

Such commitment to destinations in Cuba confirms the interest of Canadians in visiting the Caribbean nation, at a time when the tour operator Air Canada Vacations is also getting ready to undertake its first trip from Montreal tomorrow to the Jardines del Rey airport, in Cayo Coco.
