Cuba, Japan hold talks on joint cooperation projects
In addition, the representatives discussed the possibility that Japanese and Cuban consultants could work in parallel with a view to contributing to the implementation of the Cuban Economic and Social Development Program for 2030.
JICA coordinates Japan's official international public assistance and is aimed to help the economic and social development of developing countries.
That entity has an office in Havana since 2018 and under the modalities of technical cooperation, non-reimbursable financial assistance and loans, it has cooperation programs in Cuba aimed to increase food production, healthcare, energy, transport, agriculture and environmental conservation.
Cuba's Foreign Ministry refers that the outstanding joint projects are for the improvement of agricultural equipment and rice seed production technology, the formation of a national transport master plan and the development of the energy service on the Isle of Youth.
