The Salsa Festival in Cuba not only celebrates the rich musical heritage of the largest of the Antilles but also the union of communities, offering a space for expression and connection.
The event, which currently maintains its schedule from February 26 to March 1 at the capital's Club 500, will pay tribute to its 10th anniversary and the 70th anniversary of the orchestra Elito Revé y su Charangón.
Indira Fajardo, president of the Cuban Institute of Music, recognized the importance the country places on keeping alive an event of this nature, which positions Cuban music from different spaces, despite current adversities.
Maykel Blanco, founder and president of the event, highlighted that starting Friday, February 27, four orchestras will enliven the stage at Club 500, among which stand out Los Van Van, Adalberto Álvarez y su Son, Alain Pérez, Alexander Abreu and Havana D'Primera, Haila María Mompié, Elito Revé y su Charangón, and of course, Maykel Blanco y su Salsa Mayor.
As usual, the festival will extend to communities and art schools, he emphasized.
Through dance and music, participants find an emotional refuge, motivating themselves to overcome daily challenges.
The 10th edition of the Salsa Festival will once again become the annual event that brings together musicians, dancers, and fans from around the world in Cuba.
