The 23rd edition of the Festival Piña Colada is set to take place in the province of Ciego de Ávila, Cuba, from April 2 through 5, 2026, featuring a cultural program adapted to the country's current conditions while remaining firmly anchored in live music and the energy of youth.

As is tradition, the Piña Colada festival marks the anniversaries of the Union of Young Communists (UJC) and the José Martí Pioneers Organization (OPJM). This year's edition, however, carries additional significance, as it also commemorates the 40th anniversary of the Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS) and pays tribute to distinguished Avilean soprano Lucy Safont.

Under the slogan "Culture, Tradition, and Modernity," the provincial capital and the municipality of Morón will host three days of fusion, alternative, and contemporary music concerts at well-established venues, including the AHS and UNEAC headquarters, the ARTEX Patio, and the Indercito Square in Ciego de Ávila, as well as the Reguero Theater in Morón.

Among the most notable developments for this edition is the return of the emblematic Teatro Principal of Ciego de Ávila — recently restored — as one of the festival's main stages.

To inaugurate the festivities in the "Land of the Rooster," the city streets will once again be transformed by a grand popular parade, as part of the second edition of "El Águila de la Trocha" — a gathering dedicated to history, culture, and local traditions.

As in previous years, the largest cultural event in central Cuba will extend its reach to neighborhoods, schools, workplaces, and other community spaces through the cultural outreach initiative known as "Latir Avileño." The festival will also prioritize open-air venues with natural lighting and minimal technical requirements, in support of responsible electricity consumption.

Founded and presided over by prominent Avilean musician Arnaldo Rodríguez, known as TALISMAN, the Festival Piña Colada is organized by the Provincial Directorate of Culture of Ciego de Ávila, the company Musicávila, the Musicuba Agency of EGREM, and Mambo S.R.L. The event also receives support from the Cuban Institute of Music, the AHS, the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC), the José Martí Brigade (BJM), the ARTEX branch in Ciego de Ávila, and local political and administrative authorities.

The organizing committee has expressed its commitment to delivering a celebration worthy of the Avilean people, affirming that art, culture, joy, and the vital force of this island of music cannot be extinguished or blocked — rather, they multiply in challenging times.
