Díaz-Canel Attends Union Awards Ceremony

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel presided over a state decorations ceremony at El Laguito Protocol Hall in Havana. Held in anticipation of International Workers' Day, the event honored 18 individuals with the title of "Hero of Labor of the Republic," alongside other prestigious awards such as the Lázaro Peña Order and the Jesús Menéndez Medal, recognizing outstanding labor contributions across the nation.

In the presence of Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, the state decorations ceremony of the Central Workers' Union of Cuba (CTC) is currently taking place at the El Laguito Protocol Hall.

On this occasion, the honorary title of Hero of Labor of the Republic is being presented to 18 personalities with outstanding careers, as well as the Lázaro Peña Order in its I, II, and III degrees, and the Jesús Menéndez Medal to both individual workers and collectives.

The ceremony greets the island's celebrations for International Workers' Day this May First, a global proletariat festival that finds one of its epicenters each year in the largest of the Antilles.

Accompanying the president are Osnay Miguel Colina Rodríguez, member of the Party Central Committee and president of the Organizing Committee for the 22nd CTC Congress, as well as leaders from the Party, State, Government, the Young Communist League, mass organizations, the Association of Combatants of the Cuban Revolution, the Revolutionary Armed Forces, and the Ministry of the Interior.

Also present as a special guest is José Ramón Machado Ventura, Commander of the Rebel Army.
