Metro accident in Mexico to be investigated as homicide

Mexico, May 5 (Prensa Latina) The accident on Line 12 of the Mexico City Metro will be investigated as homicide and property damage, the Attorney General's Office reported.
 
That Office issued a statement saying it has already implemented the investigation procedure with the support of international experts, and confirmed the death of 24 people and 79 wounded.

Until this Wednesday, 22 of the 24 deceased were identified, ending the agony and anguish of many relatives searching for their loved ones.

The application of the Disaster Protocol allows the Prosecutor's Office to reduce times and speed up the delivery of the bodies to their families without the need to perform an autopsy, and to continue with the identification of the few who have not yet been.

The city government headed by Claudia Sheinbaum announced that the investigation will be conducted in-depth to define responsibilities and discover the truth, hence the hiring of foreign specialists.

The specialists will begin offering their expertise immediately in a professional, exhaustive, multidisciplinary and inter-institutional manner, in different fields.

Although the investigation will be time-consuming due to its complexity, the intention is to conduct it in the shortest time possible to have a scientifically and legally supported explanation, and to guarantee citizens that the truth will be reached and justice will be done.
